Focusing on a site directly across from a BART station, the project explores how density can coexist with familiarity and livability. A stepped, half-pyramid form reduces visual impact while creating terrace units with private outdoor space, echoing the scale of surrounding homes. The building integrates affordability through flexible unit configurations, including micro-units connected by shared amenities that encourage social interaction. At the ground level, a public-facing podium hosts community programs such as a library, workspace, and retail, transforming housing into a civic asset. By linking architecture, transit, and community, the project reimagines housing not just as shelter, but as a framework for collective urban life.
